2014 Marching Black Knights Field Show
The 2014 SHS Marching Black Knights will be performing music from soul's greatest artists including the Queen of Soul Miss Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, The Godfather of Soul Mr. James Brown, Earth Wind & Fire, Tower of Power and Bruno Mars. Get your dancing shoes ready...It's time to ride the Black Knights Soul Train!
Time to Sign-up!
Marching Band and Color Guard sign-up have begun. Students currently in grades 8 through 11 are invited to join the group for the fall 2014 season. No auditions are needed. Band members are typically enrolled in Stoughton band program. Students interested in Color Guard do not have to be in the band program to join. First time guard members are welcome and encouraged! No experience needed!

Looking for current 7th Grade Students!
We are looking for a few 8th grade students (fall 2014) to join the Marching Band and Color Guard this fall. Each year the group invites select 8th grade band and color guard students into the marching program. They are affectionately know as "Subbies" to the older students. This very successful program has been taking 8th grade students into the SHS Marching Band for over 14 years!
We will be announcing the 2014 crop of "Subbies" starting Tuesday, May 27th. More information to follow. OMS students please see Mr. Kearns for more information!
SHS Spring Color Guard Starts May 15th
The Spring Color Guard will give you the opportunity to be part of a fun and exciting activity. You will develop the technical abilities that lead to proficiency of equipment, movement, and dance. It’s a great way to experience what Color Guard is all about! Ms. Heffernan and Mrs. Walden will the guard instructors for Spring and Fall Guard.
WHO CAN JOIN?
All students in grades 7-11 are eligible to be a member of the SHS Spring Color Guard. Current OMS seventh grade students, and eighth grade students are invited to participate.
NO AUDITION IS REQUIRED! NO FEE TO PAY!
There is audition for Color Guard, just the desire to belong to a great group of performers. The SHS Color Guard has a long tradition of excellence in performance. They are an exciting group to watch.
SPRING GUARD SCHEDULE
The Spring Color Guard will rehearse on Thursday evenings from 6-8 PM in the O’Donnell Middle School cafeteria. The dates of rehearsals are: May 15th, 22nd, 29th, June 12th and June 19th.

July Ist - Medical Forms
In order to participate in Marching Band this fall, students will need to submit two very important forms/documents to Mr. Mange or Mr. Kearns over the summer, preferably before band camp.
Students will need to submit an up-to-date Physical report from their doctor. A physical report dated September 1st, 2013 or newer will be accepted. Please schedule an appointment ASAP with your primary care doctor.
Students will need to fill out and submit the SHS Pre-participation form before band camp. This a two page document. A parent or guardian will need to sign the document as well.

2014 Marching Band User Fee
The is a $100.00 user fee to participate in High School Marching Band. The fee is due on the first day of Band Camp.
The school department does not accept personal checks. Only cash and money order /band check will be accepted. The money order/band check should be made out to: Stoughton Public Schools.
